Cheap Holidays to Fuerteventura

This beautiful island has the most beaches in the entire Canary Islands, with over 150 at the last count. So, think about it: stunning sandy beaches, great weather (30 degrees in the summer) and a relaxed atmosphere. That sounds like the perfect recipe for a great summer holiday. Book the best cheap holidays to Fuerteventura now with Purple Travel and save cash on holiday flights and all-inclusive holiday deals.

Caleta de Fuste

Caleta de Fuste is a purpose built resort on the east coast. On the main street you'll find shops, bars and restaurants, great for a family holiday with an enjoyable nightlife and lazy beach days. Its wide beaches are host to a multitude of activities if you want to spice up your holidays such as sailing, diving and windsurfing. In all, what makes Caleta de Fuste a strong contender for holidays in Fuerteventura is its perfectly balanced mixture of great settings both for relaxing and going all out.

Costa Calma

Daytime activities here revolve around the sun, sea and amazing amenities of some of the best Fuerteventura hotels. The hotels around Costa Calma are elevated from the shoreline giving excellent views to the long stretch of white sand adorning the coastline. As the winds around the shore tend to go up, the beach becomes windsurfing central with many jumping on their boards and cutting through the waves. If you're up for the nudist thing, then this is where to head to as the Sotavento beach is a great spot to sunbathe au natural.

Corralejo

Corralejo, a former fishing village turned beach resort is a lively beach that has still retained its charm and authenticity. The main street leads down to the harbour where you get excellent views of Lanzarote and Los Lobos. There's plenty of beaches here to enjoy as well as a twice-weekly market to stock up on souvenirs. The Parque Natural de Corralejo is a great outdoors attraction as it extends to over 6 miles starting from Corralejo resort town. There’s more than enough space to put your towel on the fine sand and the turquoise blue waters splashing on the shore are perfect for a relaxing swim while still enjoying your stay in some of the busiest Fuerteventura hotels.

Nature

You'll be surprised to find Saharan landscapes in Fuerteventura if you head further inland to Parque Natural de las Dunas or you could head to Ajuy to see spectacular limestone caves. The beaches in Fuerteventura are great but there is so much more to see here. The small but wonderful Isla de lobos, situated a short ferry ride away from Corralejo is definitely the place to visit if you want to witness some of the best beaches the area has to offer. If you are a fan of inland exploring, you can always rent a bike or 4x4 and discover the breathtaking views of El Cotillo. For a different experience, head to the Salinas del Carmen near Caleta de Fuste, where seawater turns into salt with the help of the Canarian sun. When the heat gets too much, you can still dip in the clear blue waters on any of the 125 plus miles of beach around the island.

Family Attractions

For the chance to see a huge variety of birds, reptiles and primates then a day out in Oasis Park is great for all the family. So too is a visit to Baku Waterpark near Corralejo that's complete with an 18-hole mini golf course. If you want to stick beachside then you'll find a great variety of watersports for the whole family to enjoy such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing and scuba diving. Truly an all-inclusive holiday experience!

Food & Drink

You can expect the usual Spanish fare here but of course as a seaside resort, Fuerteventura is the perfect place to enjoy fresh fish. Be sure to also try Queso Majorero, a cheese made of local goat’s milk. Additionally, you would be delighted if you stepped outside the comfort and proven quality of your all-inclusive hotel deals, in order to discover the local cuisine around the numerous tapas bars and local restaurants scattered throughout the island.

Summers are dry and hot reaching temperatures in the 30s. Winters are mild while spring and autumn are warm too, making holidays in Fuerteventura a possibility all year round. As an added bonus, flights to Fuerteventura never stop, giving you lots of opportunities to visit.

Windsurfing World Championships

Every July and August you can get the chance to see the world's best windsurfers and kiteboarders compete in this championship. The expertise and precision of the athletes along with Fuerteventura’s stunning backdrops make this a sporting spectacle!

International Kite Festival

Head to Corralejo in November and you'll find colourful kites flying high above the sand dunes at the International Kite Festival. Definitely an event for all the family, bring your kids along and witness a unique show of colours stretching above the gold and blue of the coast.

February carnival

Much like the rest of Spain, you will find parties and parades all over Fuerteventura for the giant February carnival. Live performances and musicians turn the atmosphere explosive and parties go on up to the early morning. All the more of a reason to book your holiday flights to Fuerteventura around February.

Easter Holy Week

During Easter, join in the celebrations and processions that can be found all over Fuerteventura.

Fuerteventura in Music

The beaches at El Cotillo become one gigantic open air club every July for the Fuerteventura in Music festival. Enjoy great music and a vibrant atmosphere on one of the best beaches the island has to offer and make your Fuerteventura holidays an event to remember!

Turtles

For a once in a lifetime wildlife experience, head on holiday to Fuertevntura in August and see volunteers gather and release turtles that have hatched on Cofete beach.

booking again with Andy

A few weeks ago you did a great job of sorting a last minute holiday for me and my friend to jet out to Fuerteventura from East Mids Airport. The holiday was great, very relaxing - thanks a lot for all your help, assistance and advice.

It’s a lovely island. We’ve been going back here for years. Great beaches, for the past few years we’ve been staying in Corralejo, which is fab.

Great for sport.
I tried windsurfing here a few years ago and went back for kite surfing last year and it was brilliant. Sun, sea and sand for two weeks, perfect.
