Playa De Las Americas
Often cited as the nightlife capital of Tenerife, nights here have a Western flavour with casinos, bars and clubs that cater for party animals. The neon lights, loud music and 24-hour party vibe attracts a mainly young crowd at night which might suggest that it is not the ideal place for family holidays in Tenerife. However, such an assumption would be wrong as there's also plenty for families here with family-friendly hotels, theme parks, and family-friendly restaurants. The beaches and nearby waterpark offer fun for all, so this definitely is an all inclusive resort suitable for all your needs.
Costa Adeje
if you're looking for something more peaceful but still lively, Costa Adeje, a more upmarket resort that manages to perfectly balance exciting and relaxing. You'll find hotels with excellent facilities here just a few meters away from the well-kept beaches. Costa Adeje is a favourite for romantic breaks and has some of the plushest restaurants, bars and hotels in Tenerife. If you want to enjoy a good shopping session, take a stroll around the shopping centres and you are sure to find something to your liking.
Los Cristianos
A quieter resort with a beautiful harbour and opportunities to get out into the ocean yourself on a fishing, diving, sailing or glass-bottomed boat tour. The all inclusive hotels around the area are perfect for relaxing and despite booming tourism this place has kept its original underpinnings as a fishing village intact. The playas around the area are all well maintained and organised, providing for watersports enthusiasts and families alike.
Puerto de la Cruz
Choose Puerto de la cruz for an island adventure. Home to a long volcanic beach, there's all the usual seaside activities but with a much more authentic vibe. Climb to the nearby volcanic cone of Las Arenas if you want to take some great pictures of the resort and gaze upon the endless ocean. If you happen to have booked for family holidays in Tenerife and want to keep your young ones entertained, then the famous Loro Parque zoo located on the outskirts of the city is a must visit destination.
Nature
Take a cable car ride up to Spain's highest peak, Mount Teide! The third largest volcano in the world is home to a stunning setting of solid lava streams and wonderful, colourful minerals, and its views may expand to all the neighbouring islands on a clear sunny day. You can also hike or ramble here on some easy trails perfect for beginners. There's also numerous National Parks and traditional villages located away from the coastline to explore if you prefer hiking to lazing by one of Tenerife’s magnificent beaches.
Family Attractions
Head to Sanata Cruz for boutique shopping, Costa Adeje for the designer stores and El Medano for surf shops and souvenirs. The best time to visit El Medano is on a Saturday when the weekly market comes to town. It's perfect for clothes, jewellery and for trying some of the islands delicacies. If you travel with family and want to keep your children happy you can always visit the amazing Siam Park in Santa Cruz, or the aforementioned Loro Park in Puerto de la Cruz. In addition, Aqualand in Costa Adeje is a waterpark worth splashing into and Lago Martanez in Santa Cruz is an amazing place full of opportunities to taste the local gastronomy while your young ones splash around the many pools available on site.
Dining & Drinking
There's more to discover than just beautiful beaches in Tenerife. Typical Spanish cuisine is well represented throughout the island and endorsed with some Canarian cuisine delicacies consisting of seafood and localised tapas dishes. Be sure to wash it all down with some fruity Sangria or a glass of locally produced and refreshing Dorada beer. Of course you'll still be able to find your favourite dishes at the international restaurants in some resorts in case you don’t want to stray far from your beloved tastes.
The weather in Tenerife is warm all year-round making it a great place for winter sun. In the height of summer temperatures can often reach the 30s.
Carnival
You'd be mad to miss the carnival if you book your Tenerife holidays in February. The capital Santa Cruz, becomes akin to Rio carnival, with a fortnight of dancing and partying until the early hours. Live music acts and overjoyed people take center stage and flock on the streets to party, bestowing a hard to match festive spirit to the occasion.
International Jazz Festival
First held in Gran Canaria in 1992, this festival has become so popular that Tenerife now plays its own part by hosting free jazz concerts in Puerto de la Cruz and some paid events in Santa Cruz. Enjoy the offbeat vibes and solos of great jazz artists in the warm Canarian climate and make your holidays in Tenerife a musical experience to cherish.
El Medano Folklore Festival
Each year El Medano puts on its dancing shoes for a 3-day folk festival. This event takes place in the main square where a huge party is held celebrating world music and dance. Bands from all over the world, put on their traditional glad rags and come to entertain the crowds.

Reviews for Tenerife

Stayed in playa de la arena, all inclusive. A very quiet area, but it suited us fine. A couple of shops and a small supermarket. There is some work to do in the area.
We have just returned from our holiday to Tenerife that you arranged for us, we would like to say that everything went exactly to timings and we were very pleased with all your arrangements. Thanking you again Ann and Richard
Hi, I meant to contact you to thank you for arranging a very nice holiday for us. The flights were on time and very good. The transfers were excellent - we were met by a gentleman holding up our name on a placard and he took our cases and wheeled them to a minibus which we shared with only one other couple, so no waiting around. On return an enormous, new, luxurious, empty coach turned up and we thought that can't be for us, but it was, and only 2 other pick up points on the way back, so well on time. Brilliant - very good value. Glad we booked that with you. Accommodation - El Sombrero, Los Gigantes, Tenerife - very good - we had a one bedroom apt. even though we booked a studio. Brilliant view from large balcony, very clean, spacious and well equipped. Well maintained premises and gardens. Very happy with it. So we were very satisfied with our booking with you - very good value. Thank you - we'll come again. Pamela Bell
