Holidays from Southend Airport
Let us help give you some ideas of where to fly from your local airport. This week we take a look at London Southend.
There is lots and lots of new stuff at Southend Airport, something we love to see. A dedicated railway line opened in July 2011 and at only about an hour to central London it doesn’t really get any handier does it??
A new air traffic control tower opened in March of the same year and an extended runway was opened in March 2012. That’s a lot of work to improve this convenient airport which is aiming to serve around 20 million passengers by 2020. And because it’s outside of the congested London airspace it feels really calm and free of overcrowding.
So not only is Southend so handy, you can also get away to plenty of fab destinations at great prices from there. With that in mind we’ve had a look at hot places to holiday this year!
Check it out below and don’t forget to add your own.
Ibiza
Ibiza holidays have kind of a reputation for being the party capital of Europe, well there’s a reason why. With more super clubs, regular clubs, bars and cafes than you can shake a stick at, Ibiza is the place for spreading your partying wings. If a relaxed time is more your style, don’t rule out this Mediterranean beauty completely. It’s got plenty of secluded beaches, there are yoga holidays and the side of the island away from the clubs is very family friendly! Book your holiday to Ibiza from Southend with us today.?
Venice
A city break in Venice is just the trick to impress the other half in your life. Well known as one of the most romantic cities in the world, it has the restaurants, the views and the whole ambience to for a mesmerising holiday. Wander along the canals or indulge in a gondola ride, maybe your driver will even serenade you before the night is through! See the Campanile (bell tower) of St. Mark’s in the square or eat like the locals at one of the bacari restaurants, where you can have a glass of wine or a quick snack for next to nothing.
Malaga
Looking for some serious sunshine? It’s not called the Costa del Sol for nothing! Head for the sun brushed streets of Malaga. It’s just a few hours away from the UK and is filled with cafes and little bars. Stock up on some churros (a kind of fried doughnut) or head for the nearby beaches to really soak up the sunshine. If it’s culture you’re after, start with the Roman amphitheatre and Cathedral, while the Contemporary Art Centre is well worth a look. We’ve got plenty of offers from Southend to Malaga today.
