Where to go on a footie holiday this year
Are you football crazy? Find out where you could go on a football holiday this year.
You’ve done your office draw, you’ve got the supplies in and you’re ready to sit down to the Euro 2012. If you can’t be there yourself, how about thinking about a make up trip later in the year? We’ve been into the sport since the 1860s, if not before and now has never been a better time to grab some mates and head off for a weekend of footie in some far flung Euro destination. So if you fancy a weekend away with the lads, or you’ve got an understanding other half, then you should definitely take note of these hotspots.
Head to Barcelona, home of the Nou Camp Stadium it is the biggest in Europe! Home to 98,800 seats and very close to the centre of the city, it is easy to get to. It’s where some of the biggest matches of the season take place. See the player’s tunnel, find out the history of Barca in the museum and soak up the electric atmosphere at a match like no other.
The San Siro is where Inter Milan and AC Milan call home. Located in Milan, it holds 85,700 people. If you aren’t lucky enough to be there for a match you can still go in for the museum tour every day between 10 and 5. And while you’re in Milan, don’t forget to feast on the pasta and wine available at almost every opportunity…you’ll need it before the match!
How about a little trip across to Amsterdam where you can see Ajax in action. Rent a couple of bikes and wheelie along the canals, visit some of the wonderful museums, before legging it to the stadium. There you can indulge in a Premier League, Dutch National Cup, European UEFA or Champions League match.
Finally we think Prague is a winner. Not only do you have plenty to keep you going in terms of leisure pursuits, ahem, like clubs, bars, beer halls, restaurants, and day trips, but it’s also a perfect spot for catching a game. Watch Sparta Prague, or Slavia Prague match in the Czech capital this year.
So, if you’re inspired by the matches this weekend, or anytime! Give us a call to arrange a top trip to a top stadium.
